Whether you're clearing a demolition site, moving excavation spoils, or hauling fill dirt across town, CalStar's dump truck fleet gives you reliable, road-legal capacity without the overhead of owning equipment. We handle dispatch, licensing, fuel, and insurance - you focus on the job.

Every truck in our fleet is DOT-compliant, regularly maintained, and dispatched by a team that understands Los Angeles traffic, site access constraints, and LADBS permit windows. We serve general contractors, landscapers, demo crews, earthwork subs, and independent owner-operators.

  • Includes driver, fuel, tarping, and CalStar facility tip fee
  • Same-day dispatch available when ordered by 11 AM

  • Net-30 invoicing available for approved contractor accounts

Weekly / Monthly Contract

Ongoing project rates

  • Dedicated truck(s) reserved for your project duration
  • Volume discounts kick in - lower per-load cost
  • Priority dispatch - your truck isn't pulled for other jobs
  • Fixed monthly invoicing - no surprises for project billing

How It Works

From call to cleared site in three steps.

1
Call or request online

Tell us your material type, approximate volume, site address, and preferred date. We'll confirm availability and pricing in minutes. Same-day orders accepted until 11 AM for most routes.

2
We dispatch the right truck

CalStar assigns the appropriate truck size and a licensed CDL operator. You'll receive a confirmation with driver info, estimated arrival window, and truck specs before dispatch day.

3
Load, haul, invoice

The driver arrives, you load the truck. We haul to our Sun Valley facility, tip the load, and send you a complete haul ticket with tonnage confirmation. Net-30 invoice follows for account holders.

Common Questions

Dump truck rental FAQ.

What is the difference between a crewed rental and a trailer-only pull?
A crewed rental includes a licensed CalStar CDL operator who drives, tares the truck, hauls to our facility, and returns your ticket - you never leave your site. A trailer-only pull means CalStar provides just the trailer; your tractor and driver handle the route. Trailer-only is popular with owner-operators and fleet contractors who have their own licensed drivers and want to cut per-load driver costs.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Same-day service is available for calls placed by 9 AM, subject to fleet availability. For projects starting the following day, call by end of day. For ongoing contract work or multi-truck projects, we recommend booking at least 48–72 hours out so we can reserve dedicated capacity. During peak season (spring and fall), earlier notice gives you more time-slot options.
Does the rental price include the tipping fee at your facility?
Yes — for crewed rentals dispatched to our Sun Valley transfer facility, the tip fee is included in your per-load rate. If you need material hauled to a third-party facility (city yard, landfill, etc.), tip fees at that facility are billed separately as a pass-through. We always disclose this upfront before dispatch.
Can I rent a truck for multiple days at a stretch?
Absolutely. Multi-day and weekly arrangements are common for demolition and grading projects. We put the truck on a dedicated assignment to your site, which means you get consistent service, the same driver learns your site quirks, and your per-load cost often drops under a weekly rate structure. Call to discuss your project timeline.
What if the truck can't access my site?
Our dispatch team will ask about site access during your booking - gate width, overhead clearance, surface type, and any permit restrictions. If a full-size truck can't reach your site, we'll recommend a 10-yard configuration or advise on staging options. We've been working Los Angeles job sites for 40+ years and know most of the access challenges in advance.
